Gallery director Nick Aikens joined Allsopp Contemporary in December 2004. He is a graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art where he specialised in twentieth century European and American art. Before joining Allsopp Contemporary he curated the independent exhibition, Material in London whilst contributing to and co-editing the catalaogue. He recently wrote the essay for the gallery's publication, Annie Morris (co-produced with Jeannie Freilich, New York).
